Personal & Bridal Bespoke Production
Our bespoke service is curated for those who wish to:
-
Translate memory, narrative, or identity into scent
-
Honour personal milestones through a custom fragrance
-
Create an intimate olfactory memento for weddings and life passages
-
Engage in a considered, collaborative process grounded in craft
Each commission begins with a conversation. We listen first, understanding your references, intentions, and the emotional geography you wish to inhabit through your fragrance. From there, we shape a bespoke olfactory experience for you.
The Bespoke Process
The creation of bespoke fragrances with Atropos Parfums is an evolving, layered dialogue. We work with individuals who value:
-
Deliberation over immediacy
-
Depth over broad appeal
-
Material integrity over marketing hype
The process includes:
-
An initial conversation to explore reference points, intentions, and emotional cues
-
Research into materials, contexts, and appropriate olfactory structures
-
Iterative development, tuned to your responses and reflections
-
Finalisation and refinement with attention to longevity, character, and narrative coherence
A Note to Our Bridal Customers
We strongly recommend beginning the commission process for a bespoke fragrance 8-12 months before the wedding. Depending on the order size, aromatic favours such as incense, candles or rosaries require 3-6 months lead time.

Please read the below FAQ and then book an initial conversation with our perfumer, Nuri.
Bespoke Commissions FAQ
Is the bespoke consultation free?
Yes. The initial bespoke consultation is offered at no cost, with no pressure to purchase. However, to protect our perfumer's time, we charge a $25 fee for cancellations made within 48 hours of the meeting or for no-shows. You do need a card on file with us, but you will not be charged unless you cancel/no-show. Cancelling more than 48 hours in advance will not result in a charge.
What is the purpose of the initial consultation?
The consultation is a mutual assessment. This conversation helps us understand whether a bespoke commission is the right fit for you and Atropos Parfums. We discuss your ideas, references, and expectations, and outline how the bespoke process works. No formulas are created at this stage, and no creative work begins until a commission is formally agreed upon.
What types of bespoke work do you offer?
We currently focus on personal bespoke fragrances and bridal commissions. These are individual projects created for private clients rather than retail distribution. This includes alcohol and oil-based perfumes, hair fragrances, solid perfumes, soaps, scented creams, candles, incense, scented beads, perfumed powders, scented paper products, and scented inks.
Do you create white-label products for clients?
No. Atropos Parfums does not offer white-label services. Our work is centred on bespoke creation as part of our commitment to slow perfumery.
How long does a bespoke project take?
Timelines vary depending on the nature of the commission, the scent's complexity, and the pace of collaboration. Bespoke perfumery is not a rapid process. We work deliberately, allowing time for reflection, refinement, and material exploration. On average, plan for 3-8 months depending on the scope.
How many revisions are included?
At your first fragrance assesment you will be presented with four prototypes. Two of which can be selected for revisions. We do up to 3 rounds of revisions as part of the standard commission (up to 6 formula variations). Additional revisions or extensions may be possible, depending on the project's scope, but will incur an additional fee.
What materials do you use?
Materials are selected based on suitability, narrative intent, and ethical considerations (ours and the clients'). We prioritise thoughtful sourcing and transparency, and we work within contemporary safety and regulatory frameworks. We are fully capable of creating all-natural fragrances, but clients should be aware that there are limits to the performance and palette when we use only naturals.
Is bespoke perfumery suitable if I’m not familiar with fragrance terminology?
Yes. You do not need technical language or industry knowledge. We work through conversation, references, memory, and sensory impressions, translating these into olfactory structure.
Do you recreate existing perfumes or copy another brand’s scent?
No. Bespoke work at Atropos Parfums is original and client-specific. We do not replicate commercial fragrances or create imitations.
Do I own the formula to my fragrance?
Not in our standard commission. Any formula created for private clients with our standard commission is kept in-house for that customer's exclusive use. You can certainly license or purchase your formula; however, it will add considerable cost to your project with little benefit for your private use. We only recommend this if you want to sell the fragrance. In that case, we would transfer you over to business services.
What if I run out of my perfume?
We can always make more for you. As a patron, we can restock your fragrance or provide you with flanker products at your request. Restocks are considerably less expensive than the initial production, and we encourage them.
My friend made a fragrance with you, and I want it. Can you sell me a bottle?
Each commission is for the patron's exclusive use. Your friend can request that we make a bottle for you, but without their express permission, the answer is no.
