In-Depth Consultation
Projects

When you need bespoke solutions and deep engagement

At Atropos Parfums, we approach fragrance not as a product but as a living conversation with time, culture, and material knowledge. Our deep engagements are designed for emerging and established brands, heritage houses, and organisations that require specialised, rigorous, context-rich collaboration beyond a single conversation.

These services are not quick fixes or generic guidance. They are bespoke, research-driven projects rooted in craft, history, and ethical industry practice. Each engagement is scoped and priced individually based on complexity, research requirements, and the depth of collaboration envisioned.

Our areas of expertise...

Historical Formulation & Reconstruction

Perfume formulas are not only technical artefacts, but they are cultural documents. We work with brands and institutions to explore, reconstruct, and contextualise formulas from the past. Whether your project seeks to:

  • Understand a historic formula for academic purposes

  • Reconstruct an archival scent according to contemporary safety and aesthetic standards

  • Translate a legacy preparation into a modern context

We bring historical sensitivity, regulatory awareness, and material expertise to every project. Our work is anchored in the traditions and techniques that shaped scent across eras and geographies, yet always grounded in practical usability.

Specialist and Strategic Advisory

Some projects require a depth of attention that moves beyond immediate formulation: strategic planning, sourcing pathways, regulatory alignment, or ethical frameworks for material use.

Through extended collaboration, we support:

  • Material sourcing strategies and supply network guidance

  • Regulatory, compliance, and safety integration across markets

  • Ethical and sustainable practice frameworks tailored to your business model

  • Narrative, heritage, and cultural position refinement for scent portfolios

Organisational Archives & Heritage Services

Fragrance houses and beauty institutions increasingly recognise that history matters, not only as marketing capital but as a guide to identity, continuity, and future direction.

Atropos Parfums offers archival and organisational support to:

  • Locate, organise, and preserve historical materials

  • Develop internal narratives that connect craft with context

  • Train teams to steward their own heritage and institutional memory

The Nature of Deep Engagement

Atropos Parfums engages with projects that value thoughtful research, historical awareness, craft precision, and ethical integrity. In-depth projects with Atropos Parfums are collaborative from the first moment.

We work with you to:

  • Define your goals, scope, and desired outcomes

  • Clarify deliverables, timelines, and research commitments

  • Align historical, creative, and regulatory dimensions

  • Honour the integrity of your brand’s aesthetic and cultural commitments

Engagement begins with a clear scope and project brief. This ensures that our work is strategic, targeted, and meaningful rather than diffuse or open-ended.

If you are considering an in-depth project but are unsure whether you need this level of attention, you may want to book a 1-hour Consultation Call. The call's fee is credited toward your invoice if you transition to a full project within 90 days. If you are sure you would like to pursue a larger project, please email Nuri at nuri@atroposparfums.com to begin the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a creative project or a formulation service?

No. The one-hour consultation is not a creative commission or formulation project. It is a professional advisory session focused on answering questions, clarifying direction, and helping you make informed decisions. Creative and formulation work is offered separately as scoped projects.

What kinds of questions are appropriate for the one-hour consultation?

This session is best suited to practical, conceptual, and strategic questions, including business structure, sourcing materials, navigating IFRA regulations, ethical considerations, and early-stage problem solving. It is not intended for full formula development or long-term project management.

Can you help me source materials directly from growers or distillers?

Yes. Guidance on sourcing, including working directly with growers and distillers, understanding supply chains, and navigating small-scale access, is a central focus of this consultation. Please note that while advice and introductions may be discussed, sourcing relationships themselves cannot be guaranteed.

Is this consultation confidential?

Absolutely! All proprietary information discussed is strictly confidential. You will receive my confidentiality disclosure notice upon booking, and I am happy to sign your NDA if needed.

Will you review or correct my formulas during the call?

We can discuss formulation questions at a conceptual or directional level, but detailed formula review, correction, or reconstruction generally requires a deeper project engagement beyond a single hour.

Why is this consultation paid?

Professional expertise, research, and industry experience have value. This structure allows Atropos Parfums to provide thoughtful, focused guidance while maintaining clear and respectful boundaries around time and labour.

If I book a larger project later, do I lose the consultation fee?

No. If you proceed with a larger, in-depth project within 90 days of your consultation, the $100 consultation fee will be deducted from your project invoice.

Can I book multiple consultation calls instead of a project?

This service is intended for occasional, focused support. If your needs require repeated or ongoing engagement, a project-based consultation is more appropriate and will be recommended.

Is this consultation suitable for complete beginners?

Yes, provided you have specific questions or goals. This is not a general “how to start a perfume brand” course, but it can be extremely helpful for early-stage perfumers who want informed guidance rather than generic advice.

Do you offer archival or historical research as part of this consultation?

Historical formulation and archival research are specialist services and are generally handled as separate projects. They may be discussed briefly during a consultation to assess scope and suitability.

How are consultations conducted?

Consultations are conducted virtually by appointment. Details are provided after booking.

What if I’m not sure whether I need a consultation or a full project?

A one-hour consultation is often the best place to begin. It allows us to assess your needs together and determine whether a deeper engagement makes sense.
